denebulae instrumental soundscapes are primarily for relaxation
but also for pure listener enjoyment, or may be used as ritual
enhancement tools with all forms of personal growth practice.
Conceived in 1999 by deneb, an English composer living in Holland,
denebulae is a flexible, on going world wide project to promote
unity through musical healing using audio relaxation to decrease
stress.
Playing a key role within denebulae from day one is Amsterdam
based Wanrooy who, being both a classically studied pianist and
a studio technology wizard, contributes his unique talents towards
all things "nebulous".
From early 1999 until Nov 2002 denebulae developed their first
cd entitled Natural Balance. Working in close co-operation with
Ninewells Music International this cd was intended as a source
cd with nine conceptual tracks, the nine aspects being:- connections,
spirituality, bio-rhythmns, emotions, communications, sensory
perception, conciousness, creativity and absolute understanding.
Dec 2002 until Feb 2004 denebulae moved deeper and orbited the
spheres of astral/musical possibility, returning with a second
cd entitled Zen Moon.
This new cd is remarkable for several reasons. The first four
tracks are specifically composed to simulate the movements made
during the four principal Qi Gong exercises. Also, the whole cd
is in Chinese style balanced within a Taoist/Yin Yang/Zen inner
harmony.
The Zen Moon "slow motion" ambience easily adapts to
Tai Chi practice while the "spaced" music enhances a
"third ear awareness" and this is often regarded as
the first, and probably only, cd ever in the genre tea music....almost
a peaceful and meditative Japanese tea ceremony.
May/June 2004 denebulae composed and recorded their third cd,
Sensory Perception and this "recline on your back" music
can best be described as simply... a Zen reflection in the nebulous
Tao...
Oct 2004 until March 2005 denebulae developed their fourth cd,
Sukhuvati which is now released. (June 2005). By many regarded
as the best cd from denebulae to date it is a wholesome example
of fine mandala music.
Tracks from the SUKHAVATI cd were played on New Age radio station
WQFS 90.9 fm in North Carolina, USA. Thanks DJ David Oldham, first
in the States !!
In this same period another cd, Zen Dawn, also came to fruition
with out-takes from the same sessions plus some experimental recordings
in the field (literally in a field and with a didgeridoo in a
water culvert underneath the Ross-on-Wye, UK bypass motorway).
For the title track, Zen Dawn, deneb caught Grendel Foxe by surprise
at his cottage, in the Welsh borderlands one night (after traversing
a mile of muddy fields without a torch, carrying a portable recording
studio in a bin liner). Grendel, who is a Tai Chi exponent and
spiritual flute expressionist, soon recovered from meeting deneb
and a melody of J S Bach was recorded which, several months later
in Holland, was adapted by deneb using William Burroughs cutup
technique, and this track became a zen "now" experience.
The cd Zen Dawn was released in April 2005 to celebrate deneb
and his forty years as composer and songwriter. A semi unplugged,
abstract and hypnotic concert for serious nebulatti !!
August 2005 DJ Benno Veugen, ABRadio 105.8FM Holland, promotes
denebulae in New Age program TEP ZEPPI. Each week, for twelve
weeks, various tracks from denebulae are broadcast to Amsterdam
and Kennemerland province, Holland. Special thanks to Benno for
being the first DJ to accept denebulae in Netherlands !!
Also in this period, denebulae played on internet New Age radio
program Mystic Soundscapes, Albuquerque, USA thanks to DJ Pete
Havey !!

ZEN
MOON and ZEN DAWN...two CDs from the catalogue of Denebulae, Holland.
These
are new to the UK market and definitely worth listening to and
experimenting with. Essentially peaceful and meditative, Deneb's
compositions are deceptively easy listening. You can put the music
on and drift away to it, however, it reveals more and more facets
with subsequent listenings. Ideal for tai ch'i and other "zen-like"
practices, the music is written and performed to express inner
world realities and a growing sense of spiritual awareness.

Xmas 2005 and denebulae reach number 2 in the listeners popularity
charts at New Age radio Mystic Soundscapes, entering audio studio
2006 with refreshingly positive aspirations.....
January 2006, denebulae become featured artists at radio Mystic
Soundscapes and also receive radio play from Pagan Poet Radio
(paganpoet.com) and Lady Pantheress Radio (ladypantheressradio.com).
April 2006 release of "download only" cd Totemec, only
available through website denebulae.com
Also, at this time, a complete renewal of their recording facility
enables new denebulae composition and ambiental experimence possibilities.....
May 2006 release in USA and Canada by Ninewells Music Int. of
a compilation cd, Zo Zen, from denebulae especially for Chi balance
and mantric healing.
June 2006 denebulae featured artist of the month on Lotus
Zen radio
July 2006 denebulae feature on Sacred
Sounds radio
August 2006 was release date time in USA for a special charity
compilation cd involving artists from Bulgaria, France, England,
Holland, Canada and USA especially for the United Nations Refugee
Agency. This cd, 'Voyces United For UNHCR', also has one track
with English lyrics composed by denebulae.
During the last months of 2006 denebulae became involved with
environmental issues and worked closely with WhaleCall.org in
Australia. Two films have been made with this project which protests
against the needless killing of Whales. The first film is 'Whale
Chase' and involves Greenpeace and has a soundtrack using Fihi
Ma Fihi by denebulae. The second film is 'Teens Against Whaling'
and has a soundtrack using Natural Balance by denebulae.
denebulae are also very concerned with the continued destruction
of the natural forests in Brazil.
At this moment, 2007, denebulae are busy with another film music
project. This is being filmed on the streets of Amsterdam, Holland
and will highlight the conflict of humanity with technology in
the modern world. denebulae are in the studio composing special
music and lyrics for the soundtrack.
Later in 2007 the next item will be yet another soundtrack and
the filming will be in America. This will be rather mystical and
document an ancient Amerindian spiritual site where the original
group of trees still exist today.
Also in 2007 the music of denebulae will become more Zen/Chill
and accessible to a wider and younger audience.
